Sounds like you are having a great start to your program! The orientation for my program is about TWO WEEKS LONG so I am a little jealous and a little glad that I have some time to get started. I have noticed a similar thing with the food in France (I mean it all depends on what you get of course) but the push for fresh foods is incredible! I walked past a store today in my “quartier” that was called BioCoop that sold all organic things that were very fresh. Have you noticed a difference with the food being fresher and expiring quicker? I have loved every bite that I had to thus far, especially with the cheeses that are so popular in France, but in other things as well. The apples that I have had here have been the best ones I have ever had. Even the Fanta/Coke tastes totally different than at home. I had a Fanta today and it tasted like an actual orange instead of an overly sweet orange candy. Have you noticed any of these things in Ireland?
Also, are you doing a homestay, living in dorms, or living in an apartment? It seems like you are given a lot of opportunities to meet others and partake in the Irish culture very easily, so I am just curious what your living arrangement is. Great post! I look forward to reading more!
